Profile Envelope Cut List

These dimensions describe bounding rectangles. SVG/DXF and panel drawings contain the actual shaped manufacturing contours.

CutNavi currently optimizes rectangular envelopes for shaped joinery parts. It does not perform irregular-profile nesting. Envelope utilization is not true profile material utilization.

Export details

SVG and DXF contain unoptimized physical panel drawings. DXF R2000 declares millimeters or inches and includes a fitted modelspace view. Set sheet size, margin and kerf in the optimizer.

Panel Drawings

Unoptimized / vector

Individual panel outlines at their true aspect ratio. These drawings are not an optimized sheet layout.

Tab Panel200 × 103 mm
Slot Panel200 × 100 mm

CutNavi currently optimizes rectangular envelopes for shaped joinery parts. It does not perform irregular-profile nesting. No CAM, G-code, automatic kerf offset or corner relief.

Generate a real two-panel tab-and-slot joint

A generic right-angle joint

This tool generates a Tab Panel and a receiving Slot Panel, not a complete cabinet. Tabs project beyond nominal Tab Panel height by receiver thickness; the bounding height includes that projection. Both panels use their actual separate thicknesses.

Shared tab positions and slot inset

Auto mode distributes tabs with solid spacing at both ends of Joint Span. Slots derive from those same intervals, with openings sized to tab width and Tab Panel thickness. Slot Inset is the distance from the nearest receiving edge to the nearest slot boundary. Openings must remain strictly inside the panel.

Clearance and physical validation

Clearance enlarges slot openings, centered along each tab; the assembly aligns to the resulting slot-row center. No kerf offset, hardware or hidden fit allowance is applied. Square internal slot corners require process-specific fit calibration or machining relief; no direct router fit or machine certification is claimed.

Real 2D contours and 3D thickness

Internal slots are holes in both vector exports and profile extrusion. SVG/DXF honor mm/in units. CSV and rectangular optimization use physical bounding envelopes; mixed thicknesses are optimized separately. Save parametric inputs and revisions rather than mesh snapshots.

Practical guides

Enter a measurement such as 18, 18.5, 3/4", or 18 1/2". Inch fractions use the selected inch unit or an explicit inch suffix.
