Export details

SVG and DXF contain unoptimized physical panel drawings. DXF R2000 declares millimeters or inches and includes a fitted modelspace view. Set sheet size, margin and kerf in the optimizer.

Inside and outside dimensions

Basic Box front and back span full outside width and height. Sides fit between front/back at depth minus twice thickness; top/bottom fit inside all four walls. Inside mode adds twice the material thickness to each dimension before using the same construction.

A useful default check

At 600 × 400 × 350 mm with 18 mm material and a closed top, front/back are 600 × 400, sides 314 × 400 and top/bottom 564 × 314 mm: six panels. Open Top removes only the top; the reported inside dimensions retain the closed-box reference, while actual open clearance gains one thickness.

What the exports describe

SVG/DXF contain physical rectangular panel outlines, not optimized nesting, joints or cutter compensation. This is a basic box calculator; it does not generate finger joints, hardware holes or laser joint tolerances. Save parameters as revisions or transfer panels to the optimizer.

Practical guides

Enter a measurement such as 18, 18.5, 3/4", or 18 1/2". Inch fractions use the selected inch unit or an explicit inch suffix.
