Profile Envelope Cut List

These dimensions describe bounding rectangles. SVG/DXF and panel drawings contain the actual shaped manufacturing contours.

CutNavi currently optimizes rectangular envelopes for shaped joinery parts. It does not perform irregular-profile nesting. Envelope utilization is not true profile material utilization.

Export details

SVG and DXF contain unoptimized physical panel drawings. DXF R2000 declares millimeters or inches and includes a fitted modelspace view. Set sheet size, margin and kerf in the optimizer.

Unoptimized / vector

Individual panel outlines at their true aspect ratio. These drawings are not an optimized sheet layout.

CutNavi currently optimizes rectangular envelopes for shaped joinery parts. It does not perform irregular-profile nesting. No CAM, G-code, automatic kerf offset or corner relief.

Outside and inside dimensions

Outside size is the final box envelope: all panels occupy the six outside planes with thickness extending inward. Inside mode adds twice thickness to width/depth; height adds twice thickness for closed boxes and once for Open Top. Open Top has five real panels.

One pattern for each mating pair

Target finger size determines an odd, evenly distributed shared segment pattern. Actual sizes may differ slightly by edge; both panels derive from the same canonical boundaries. Top/bottom panels deliberately own triple corner cubes; wall joints exclude those corner cubes. The 150 × 100 × 100 mm closed default uses 3 mm material and six shaped panels.

Fit and machining limitations

Positive Joint Clearance creates centered gaps along finger sides. There is no hidden laser kerf offset. Calibrate fit for your actual process and material. Square internal corners may need dogbone relief or suitable CAM for a round router cutter; automatic relief and toolpaths are not generated.

Export profiles, plan envelopes

SVG/DXF contain actual finger contours and selected mm/in coordinates. CSV reports bounding rectangles and profile type. The rectangular optimizer plans those envelopes, not irregular-profile nesting or true shaped-part area utilization. Save/reopen parameters and immutable revisions to regenerate the same geometry.

Practical guides

Enter a measurement such as 18, 18.5, 3/4", or 18 1/2". Inch fractions use the selected inch unit or an explicit inch suffix.
