THE FORMULA

Raw cost = part area × quantity × (sheet price ÷ sheet area)

Convert square millimeters to square meters by dividing by 1,000,000. The theoretical cost allocates area only. It excludes nesting waste, kerf, sheet margins, whole-sheet purchasing, labor and taxes. Use the optimizer for a real layout.

These tools calculate the values you supply. They do not recommend tool, material or machine parameters.

Separate panel area from sheet purchasing cost

Area-based reference

Four 600 × 350 mm panels have total area 0.84 m². On a 2800 × 2070 mm sheet (5.796 m²), an area allocation uses 0.84 ÷ 5.796 of your entered sheet price. No market price is supplied.

Check actual production requirements

Area cost ignores nesting, kerf, margin and whole-sheet purchasing. Use the optimizer to find actual sheet count and your selected material price. Saved material values can prefill inputs; manual calculator overrides do not edit the library.

Practical guides

Enter a measurement such as 18, 18.5, 3/4", or 18 1/2". Inch fractions use the selected inch unit or an explicit inch suffix.
